Some men sin and feel bad. Esau sins and feels settled. Proverbs 4:16 shows a spirit that cannot sleep until mischief is done and somebody falls. Read through Esau, the verse becomes a terrifying portrait of appetite, hatred, and predatory peace.
Repentance is usually taught like it belongs to everybody the same way. But the Bible shows something deeper. If sin is transgression of the law, and God gave His law, statutes, judgments, covenants, and promises to Israel, then repentance is not just an emotional apology. Repentance is Israel being called back to covenant.
