Adam didn't have proclivities!

Imagine a life that doesn't include a constant struggle with your flesh to please God.

Imagine coming into the truth with no past sins or temptations to contend with.

Adam didn't have sinful memories or past sinful pleasures to overcome.

Adam didn't have to battle with past addictions or lust.

He wasn't haunted nightly with mistakes from his past or childhood trauma.

He didn't have a worldly attachment, or an ungodly desire, so God creates one.

God's gift to Adam was a chance to prove he loves him.

God gave Adam a token to prove his love and devotion. God is omniscient, he did not need to test Adam to see what Adam would do. That's why Jesus is the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the earth.

1 Peter 1:20

“Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,”

The challenge was for Adam to prove to himself, by sacrifice whether he loved his God or not. Adam failed to use his innocence to live in utopia.

Our goals should be to prove to ourselves that our sacrifices are not in vain. We need to be able to emphatically say I know I love my God and can prove it whether its fruit from a tree or whatever proclivities I may have.
