As we traverse this labrinth call life a lot of our consequences can find an origin within our own specimen called a soul.

Housed in our soul is a seed of evil that we have to suppress, and put under subjection.

This is the only way to please God. God's commandments, while not hard or heavy is designed to challenge you to contend with your own provclivities.

Your natural hearts desire is an enemy to Gods word. His word is by design presents a choice between what your heart wants, and what God wants. God wants you. He wants you to love him. That requires you to prove it by fighting your heart, not Satan.

The first time I heard you quote Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

The sins we commit are written upon our hearts, and only God's blood can cleanse us. This is why receiving the Holy Ghost is important because it's only then that we receive a new heart, a new way of thinking, and a new praise and worship. The heart is cunningly wicked if it doesn't have God's blood flowing through it. We can't be saved by morals alone. We need to be filled with God's precious and holy spirit.

This makes me think of Mark 7:21-23 Jesus knew we would sin, it’s in all of us by nature to do so. But it’s our job to make the choice to turn to him and allow us to change our hearts from within to be more like him.
