Listening With Your Soul
God is calling His people to listen—not just with their ears, but with their souls. He wants us to hear Him clearly, respond directly, and accept everything He gives us, whether it brings joy or discomfort. The message is simple but carries weight: God said you must eat what He gives you.
We’re living in a time when many have been introduced to a false image of God. This fake version is soft, cuddly, and always agreeable. But the real Lord of lords, the real King of Kings, is not to be confused with that. He is austere, direct, matter-of-fact, point-blank, and completely sovereign. Just as much as He has love, He also has wrath. He sends plagues from heaven and speaks words that come with demands. When He speaks, He expects a response.
That’s why we must learn to say, “Speak, Lord, Your servant hears You.” God hears our prayers. They rise up to Him like a sweet-smelling savor. He will speak directly to your soul. He will do what no other god can do—because those other gods are deaf and dumb. They can’t hear you, and they can’t help you. But our God calls your name, like He did with Samuel, again and again. Finally, you will respond, “Here I am, Lord. I am Your servant. Speak to me.”
The Importance of Accepting God's Word
When God gives you His word, you must eat it. Just like He told Ezekiel: eat what I give you. That means digesting the full word of God—all of it. Not just the comforting verses but also those filled with lamentations, mourning, and doom. The parts that speak about heartache, mental anguish, woe, and tribulation are necessary. We must embrace even the painful realities of life because God is in control. He allows the situations we face, and we must trust that His will is perfect.
This stands in stark contrast to what many false teachers preach today. These prosperity pimps offer false hope. They tell you that you don’t have to give up anything. That there’s no need to sacrifice. But God says the opposite: eat what I give you. Accept the suffering. Accept the discipline. Accept the transformation.
Building a Solid Foundation
Faith must be built on something real. It needs a foundation that comes from hearing the word of God—not just reading it, and not just praying about it. Faith comes by hearing. If you hear and accept the Word God gives you, He promises to deliver you from all your trouble. It’s not complicated. It’s not burdensome. You don’t have to carry your problems forever. All you have to do is eat what He gives you, and you will be set free.
This process requires genuine surrender. You must be able to say, “Not my will. Lord, Your will be done.” That's when the power of God begins to transform you. He is the author of your story, the potter shaping your life, and the King over every circumstance. When you make up your mind to obey Him, even in difficult situations, everything changes.
God's Desire to Heal
God desires to help you. He wants to fix what’s broken in your life. Whether it’s stress, physical pain, depression, or trouble in your relationships, He wants to heal it. He wants to rip out anything in your soul that doesn’t belong. He wants to make you better. He wants to make you whole.
I remember a moment when I heard a message from the Lord—words that were translated from a prayer I prayed in tongues. The Spirit of God said, “I’ll do anything for you, Jesus.” And He also said back to me, “I’ll do anything for you.” That’s who He is. That’s the kind of relationship He wants to have with you.
The Transformation Through Surrender
When you truly surrender to God—when you eat what He gives you—everything changes. The pain, the past, the problems… they’ll become irrelevant. They’ll be like distant memories. The day will come when you hear those precious words: “Well done, you good and faithful servant.” That’s what we’re living for. That’s the end goal: eternal life, rest, peace, and blessings in His presence forever.
Taking the Next Step
If you haven’t said “yes” to God yet, today is the day. Say yes. Obey His voice. Eat what He gives you. Consider baptism. Start walking in the newness of life.
God is calling His people to listen—not just with their ears—but with their souls. It's time to embrace all He has for you.
