A Teaching from Covenant Servants House of Prayer
In the New Testament, the Apostles encourage believers to greet one another with love and peace.
Philippians 4:21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you. However, they do not give a specific phrase or words to use. This shows us that greetings are meant to build up, encourage, and show respect, not to define our spiritual identity by themselves.
At Covenant Servants House of Prayer, we greet one another by saying “Praise the Lord” because it is a heartfelt expression of honoring and thanking God. This phrase reflects the biblical call to praise God, as we see throughout the Psalms and the scriptures.
We understand that some may associate this phrase with “Christian” traditions, but words alone do not define who we are. Our true identity is shown by how we live—keeping the commandments, observing the Sabbath, and walking according to the Word of God.
Saying “Praise the Lord” is a way to keep the Lord at the center of our daily lives and conversations.
Therefore, while we say “Praise the Lord” as a greeting, we do so with a clear understanding of our distinct calling and covenant relationship, separate from denominational labels. Our focus is on walking in truth and obedience as the Apostles taught.
