When Peace Comes from Distance, Not Healing

There’s a kind of peace that isn’t from God. It’s the peace of walls. Some of us learned survival by cutting people off. We tell ourselves, “I’m fine. I’ve already dealt with that.” But distance is not deliverance.

Forgiveness is not pretending the wound never happened. It’s choosing to stop carrying the judgment. Jesus forgave us while we were still wrong. He didn’t wait for an apology.
If your father, Mother or anyone wounded you, you don’t need to re-enter chaos to heal. But you do need to release the case from your hands.
Ephesians 4:31-32 reminds us: “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you… and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Real forgiveness frees your spirit to grow. It turns “I don’t talk to them” into “I’ve talked to God about them.” That’s where peace begins. Not in distance, but in mercy.
Peace is not absence — it’s release. What’s one person you’ve had to forgive from a distance? Share how God walked you through it.”

This is a really good message. Just because you may avoid or distance yourself from something or someone doesn’t mean your delivered from that thing. God always trying to mold us and shape us into who He wants us to be. And he can’t use us if we are still holding on to our past. This really helped me to understand of becoming new in Christ and having true peace from God.
This is a reminder that peace is not just about silence or separation-it is about surrender. Forgiveness from a distance is part of the journey and learning to release judgement instead of rehearsing pain can bring you closer to GOD. Mercy is where healing begins. 🙏🏼
Amen
God will be the one to tell you who you should and shouldn't be around. He always knows 🙏🏿
He tells you in many ways that may seem like normal day things to most but that's why pastors are there to explain God's help and guide people to the right place. The truth gets unraveled through community, never alone.
